This collection consists chiefly of legal and estate papers related to the settlement of the estate of Robert Bogardus (1771-1841) of New York City, and the disposition of his extensive landholdings along the Harlem River. Some of the specific documents include an inventory of the estate of Robert Bogardus, detailed history of the title to land holdings in the Fort Washington District of New York, and detailed map showing the lands (lots) of Robert Bogardus estate sold at auction in 1854.
